The Placard

What material is the placard made from?
Our Heart-Shaped Memorial Placard is made from premium stainless steel, designed for permanent outdoor use. It will withstand rain, heat, cold, and UV exposure for many years.
How does it attach to the headstone?
Every placard includes a weatherproof peel-and-stick adhesive backing on the rear. Your family simply peels the backing and presses the placard firmly onto the headstone or burial marker. No tools, no drilling, no special equipment needed. It takes about 30 seconds to install.
Can I remove it if I need to?
Yes. The placard can be carefully removed using dental floss or fishing line to cut through the adhesive, followed by a gentle adhesive remover. We recommend testing in an inconspicuous area first. QR Lasting Legacy is not responsible for any damage resulting from removal.
Does my cemetery allow this?
Most cemeteries permit small memorial additions to headstones. However, policies vary by cemetery. It is your responsibility to verify with your cemetery management before installing the placard. Our placards also work beautifully in indoor settings — on a mantel, in a shadow box, or as part of a home memorial display — if cemetery installation is not permitted.
How long will the QR code last?
The QR code itself is permanent — it is laser engraved or UV printed directly onto the weatherproof placard and will not fade, peel, or degrade with normal outdoor exposure. The link the QR code points to remains active as long as your hosting subscription is active.
What if my QR code doesn't work?
While we strive for excellence in every product we sell, accidents in production do happen. If your QR code doesn't scan properly upon receipt, we'll replace your placard free of charge within 30 days of delivery. Just email us at hello@qrlastinglegacy.com with your order number and a photo or video showing the issue.
How long does shipping take?
Your placard ships free in 7 to 10 business days. All orders ship directly to the address you provide at checkout.

The Memorial Page

What does the memorial page include?
Every memorial page includes your loved one's name, dates, biography, and photos. Depending on your tier it may also include voice recordings, video links, a Facebook memorial page link, a flower delivery affiliate link, GPS navigation to their plot, a family tribute guestbook, and birthday and anniversary reminders sent to family members.
Does the visitor need an app to scan the QR code?
No app needed. Any modern smartphone camera can scan the QR code and open the memorial page directly in the browser. This works on both iPhone and Android.
Can I update the memorial page after it's live?
Yes. Simply email hello@qrlastinglegacy.com with your order number and the changes you'd like made — new photos, updated bio, additional video links, new family emails, etc. We process updates within 48 hours at no charge. A self-service customer portal is coming soon.
Can multiple family members share the page link?
Absolutely. The memorial page URL can be shared with anyone — copy and paste it into a text, email, or Facebook post. Anyone with the link can view the page and leave a tribute in the guestbook.
What types of voice and video files can I upload?
For audio — saved voicemails, iPhone voice memos, or any audio file can be uploaded to YouTube as an audio-only video (unlisted) and we link it on the memorial page. For video — any YouTube or Facebook video link works. We embed it so visitors can play it with one tap directly on the page.

Hosting & Billing

How does hosting billing work?
Hosting is bundled into the same checkout as your placard and billed starting the day you order. Choose annual at checkout ($69.99/year, our best value) or monthly ($6.99/month). Monthly hosting renews automatically every month on the same date you signed up; annual hosting renews automatically once a year on that same date. Either way, we charge the current payment method on file so your loved one's page stays active. You can cancel anytime with one email.
What happens if I miss a payment?
If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry. We will also email all registered family members to notify them. Your memorial page will not be taken offline immediately — we provide a 90-day grace period during which you can update your payment method and restore full access.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Email hello@qrlastinglegacy.com with the subject line "Cancel Subscription" and your name and order email address. We will process your cancellation within 24 hours with no questions asked. Your page stays live until the end of your current billing period, then enters a 90-day grace period before any data is removed.
Will the page ever be deleted without my knowledge?
Never. We will always send a minimum of 90 days notice to all registered family emails before removing any memorial page data. We make multiple attempts to reach the family before taking any action. Lasting Legacy customers are permanently exempt from this concern.

Military & First Responders

How do I get the military or first responder discount?
Enter code SERVE25 at Stripe checkout. You will receive 25% off your placard purchase. No proof required — we trust you. The discount applies to all three placard tiers and does not apply to hosting subscriptions.
Can I add a branch insignia or department badge to the placard?
Yes — and this is one of our most meaningful features. We can laser engrave your loved one's branch insignia (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard), rank, unit, years of service, and badge number directly onto the placard. For police, fire, EMS, or custom department logos, simply email your vector logo file to hello@qrlastinglegacy.com with your order number.
Who qualifies for the SERVE25 discount?
Active duty military, veterans of any branch, police officers, firefighters, EMT and paramedic first responders, sheriff's deputies, and Gold Star family members. We are a veteran-owned business and this discount is our permanent commitment to the service community.

Privacy & Data

Who can see the memorial page?
Anyone who scans the QR code or has the direct URL can view the memorial page. Pages are publicly accessible by design — they are meant to be shared with anyone who visits the gravesite. If you prefer a private page, contact us and we can discuss options.
Will you share my family's information with genealogy sites?
Only if you explicitly consent to this in writing. Genealogy sharing is strictly opt-in. We will never share your family's information with Ancestry, FamilySearch, or any other platform without your written permission. You can revoke consent at any time.
How do I request deletion of my data?
Email hello@qrlastinglegacy.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will respond within 45 days as required by Texas law and confirm when your data has been removed. Note that billing records required by tax law are retained for 7 years regardless of deletion requests.
