Why We Exist

I was researching my family roots and kept finding names and dates — nothing else. No voice. No face. No story. Just a name carved in stone and two dates that told me nothing about who that person actually was — what they laughed at, what they loved, what they sounded like when they called your name.

I kept thinking about the people who would stand at those same headstones 50 years from now — my grandchildren, their grandchildren — hitting the same wall. Names and dates. Nothing more.

So I built what I wished had existed. A way for anyone who visits a headstone to scan a small placard and instantly hear their loved one's voice, see their face, and read their story — not just today, but for every generation that comes after.

The People Behind This Mission

QR Lasting Legacy was born from real loss — not as a concept, but as a necessity.

SSG Ronald Carl Blystone

Born February 11, 1974 in Springfield, Missouri. Killed in Baghdad, Iraq on April 23, 2008 — aged 34. Ron was my childhood friend. After he was killed in action, his friends built a living memorial in his father's front yard. That memorial was never just a marker. It was proof that the people who loved him refused to let him be reduced to two dates.

Ron is one reason this business exists. He deserved more than a name in stone. Every person does.

Charity Camille Martin

My daughter. She passed September 8, 2021 — taken by COVID at 32 weeks pregnant. Her daughter Vivian was delivered by emergency C-section. Charity never saw her. They never had a chance to meet.

Charity is the other reason this business exists. Her story should never be reduced to two dates and a dash. Neither should yours.

Who We Are

John Martin — Founder

U.S. Army veteran. 22 years total service, 14 years active duty. San Antonio, TX. I built QR Lasting Legacy because I know what it means to lose someone before their story is fully told — and I know what it means to need something that doesn't exist yet. So I built it.

Our Business

QR Lasting Legacy is the DBA trade name of RichGuin Enterprises LLC, a Wyoming LLC. We are based in San Antonio, Texas and operate entirely in the United States.
